1. The size of the area – knowing how large the area is will enable you to hire the right size of marquee
2. Number of Guests: knowing the number of guests you are expecting for your event. For instance, the size of the marquee may not matter to you. However, informing the marquee hire vendor on the number of guests you are expecting will help them understand the actual size of marquee needed for your event. Furthermore, you have to be precise on the number of persons expected to be seated, as the size of the marquee is sometimes estimated based on standing and sitting guests.
3. The land topography – you need to know and inform the vendor of the situation of the land. Is it a flat surface or hilly, is it grass or concrete? This will inform your vendor on the best way to secure the marquee for the safety of your guests.
4. Barrier/Obstacles – it is necessary to tell if there are barriers/obstacles in the area you intend to set up the marquee. Barriers could be anything such as trees, fence or ropes. Also, other party equipment such as bouncy castles can become a barrier if set up wrongly before the arrival of the marquee.
5. The package – before hiring a marquee, you must find out the package that comes with the marquee e.g., the number of chairs and tables needed, lights and heat in the marquee (depending on the season of the year). It is to note that most marquees don’t come with floors, as it may require additional cost. Therefore, it is important to get every information needed before you proceed to hire one.
6. Hire Locally – It is best to find a marquee hire service around your locality. This makes it easy for the vendor to visit the place before the event if he chooses to. Moreover, it will save you some extra cost. Cost such as transportation or motorway toll fees can be avoided when you hire locally.
7. Understanding your supplier: how do you understand whom you are dealing with? Is your vendor a registered business that takes his/her services serious? Have you looked out for reviews on how good they communicate with clients? Are they the type that may leave you hanging on the day of your event? Searching and understanding these minor details play a massive impact on your party. Your party may not be enjoyed as hoped if your vendor disappoints you on the day of your event
